A rather young dolphin covered with patches of 'circular' bruises, came ashore and died on the Kagur beach of the Malas village in the Madang Province of Papua New Guinea.
The Malas villagers said, the dolphin came onto the sand crying and they put it back into the sea but it turned and came back at full speed crashing onto the sand, still crying but louder this time, as if its afraid of something out there beyond the shallow waters. Some say the marks looked like it was speared, others say its likely to have been caused by one of those big fishing nets of the many fishing vessels out at sea, that must have probably hauled it up with the fish they want from the Madang sea. Whatever it is that caused it, surely killed this poor dear creature here. There may be others dying somewhere. This is the first of its kind to have happened. Something is wrong.
